Bad Choice...

So I was at a meeting at Denny's this past Friday and decided to order their Fried Cheese Melt with Fries. Look at an article I found on yahoo.com, 5 New Scariest Restaurant Foods

Scary Meal #5
Denny’s Fried Cheese Melt with wavy fries and marinara
1,260 calories
63 g fat (21 g saturated, 1 g trans)
3,010 mg sodium

CALORIE EQUIVALENT: 18 T.G.I. Friday’s Frozen Cheddar & Bacon Potato Skins

Apparently, Denny’s deemed the classic grilled cheese too boring for our novelty seeking taste buds, so they fixed it by driving four deep-fried cheese sticks into the core of the sandwich. So what you end up with are cheese sticks with extra cheese between slabs of buttered bread and a pile of fried potatoes on the side. If Denny’s was serious about improving the grilled cheese, they would have skipped the novelty and brought in big-flavor ingredients like sautéed mushrooms or sliced figs. But, of course, if they did that, they might not be able to sell this entire meal for $4. Here’s to cheap food and expensive health care!

DAMN IT! -_-

Totally Addicted

The title says it all: I'm TOTALLY ADDICTED to bareEscentuals makeup! My very first order of bareEscentuals just came the other week and I have been using all the eye shadows and lip glosses ever since. I'm pretty satisfied with the products, so I have been shopping for more products. I've been looking at Sephora.com and found a whole bunch of SALE items! I just placed 2 separate orders, over $50.00 each order, so I received free shipping and a handful of self-chosen sample items!
In my opinion, it's only worth it to buy products from Sephora.com if you are a VIP/Member. You get access to exclusive products, a rewards card (points added to your card with every purchase and you can redeem for certain samples/products at the 100 point perk or 500 point perk), and birthday gifts! Visit the website/store near you to sign up for membership before you make a purchase!

Here's my previous order:

Here are the things I'm looking forward to getting in the mail:
Crash Course, Original $22, Sale $16
Bare Escentuals Makeup Train/Bag, Original $35, Sale $20
Adventurous Kit, Original $32, Sale $25

Buxom Betty Kit, Original $42, Sale $30

Sweet Decadence, Original $28, Sale $19

Visit SEPHORA

To end, I'll leave you all with a little treat that only insiders get from joining bareEscentuals mailing list:
GLAMMY NIGHT
Thursday, August 26th from 5-9pm
VISIT A BOUTIQUE:
refreshments, free make-unders, samples
VISIT ONLINE: 20% off  ALL PURCHASES from 5-9pm EDT; use code GLAMMY at checkout.

Enjoy and have fun!

Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall 2010

Wow, wow, wow, wow! Summer is finally over and again, the busy times of college are back. I feel like I've had a long and busy summer, so I can't say that this summer went by like nothing. I've met some new people and have gotten closer to the ones I already know. All the times I spent with my sister doing little things, like getting boba or going to Asian Mall for an hour, had helped me understand my little sister more. She is actually starting pre school in September. I have asked her numerous times if she is looking forward to school and she had always replied, "YES!" I think she would a great addition to her class and I know she will learn a great deal being around different people. I'm excited for her! =D

Orange County Fair-- Updated!

Yay!  So, I went to the OC Fair and I had a lot of fun with my friends! I tried a few new food items, spent only about $32, so I stayed within my budget, and I left with a ton of photos on my camera and a cute little banana! I also got in for free after donating school supplies and to end the night we all went on the grand Ferris wheel. I always get a little nervous when it comes to height, so I was little icky on the Ferris wheel, but after a few moments I started feeling better. =) I guess I have to say good bye to the OC Fair for this year, but I am definitely going to see you again next summer!

I won a banana!<3
This is made out of butter!
This is pretty and it is made out of licorice!

The turkey leg!
I love blooming onions!
Ice sculpture!

Yes, I tried the battered potatoes! Not that bad! =D
The group! Some members of the Union of Vietnamese Student Associations of So-Cal (CSUF, CSULB, CSULA, UCSD, UCLA)

So many adventures await....

Orange County Fair

I'll be going to the OC Fair some time this week for the second time this year. Last time I took my little sister, Elena, to the fair. We spent about $100 the whole day, mostly due to the games. We ended up with a few small prizes, 3 large prizes, and even a living frog. However, I didn't get to taste much of the food, just the lemonade and the funnel cake. This time around I'll be sure to try more food items and spend less on the games.

Speaking of the games, I really want to win one of those huge 4' prizes; you know, the ones where you only have to make a win once and you automatically get the huge prize? Obviously, most games at the carnivals are rigged in some way or the chances of you winning are very low; so either way, the benefit lays with the "carnies", the people operating the games who supposedly know all the tricks to winning. I've done some research to a few games and I learned there are strategies to winning certain games. I'll try to implement these strategies and hopefully leave as a winner!

Hehehe! My little sister and her Pikachu from the fair!

Mmm.. turkey legs!!!

Battered potatoes with cheesy toppings? I gotta try this!

Bare Escentuals Makeup

So after a good week of looking at bare Escentuals makeup online, I have decided to make a purchase, with the use of a few coupon codes of course! My plan is to start collecting bare Escentuals because I really like the products. I already have a makeup case with tons of different types of makeup, but I would like to get an individual makeup case for my bare Escentuals makeup. =)

I have been wearing bare Minerals makeup for at least 3 years now. I believe one of my friends recommended the product to me. I made my way over to a local store and tried it on myself. Of course, as a curious newbie to the product, I purchased the mineral starter kit for about $70? It came with all the foundations, brushes, DVD, and a compact mirror. I've stuck with bare Minerals ever since because it's the best product I've tried. It's not cake-y like a liquid foundation. However, for some odd reason, my black heads have never went away, even after switching to bare Minerals. Nevertheless, the product is good and the layers of foundation (the base, the warmth, mineral veil, etc.) doesn't take too long to put on and they don't make you look over-done. =)

So, this is what I got (BTW, I received 20% off! Keep reading to find out how to get your discount!):

Face Fashion Natural Muse. Sale $19.50, 20% off = $16.60

Pretty Delicious Eyeshadow and Lip Gloss Set. Sale $26.00, 20% off = $20.80

Bare Minerals Original SPF 15 Foundation. $25.00, 20% off = $20.00
I also got this cute mini brush for FREE ($20.00 value) for spending over $50.00!
Discount code: BUFF (offer ends really soon so use ASAP!)

So basically everything came out to about $60.00, which includes tax. Shipping is always free for purchases of $50.00 or more. If you want to get 20% off entire purchase, type GLAMOUR at check out. It worked yesterday, but I don't know how long it'll work for!
Also, about 2 weeks ago, I was shopping at Ross and found a bare minerals set for only $15.00!!! This is the set that I found:

I believe the retail price is over $50.00, but I only got this for $15.00!!! I am so glad I got it! I went back to different Ross stores to look for more makeup, but I couldn't find any bareMinerals makeup. Hmm, I guess it was just luck. x)

Anyway, it'll take about 7-14 days for my purchase to be delivered. Lets hope my order doesn't get canceled because I used two promotion codes, which is sometimes prohibited.. LOL *Cross fingers*
